The biggest and most renowned academic institution in the United Arab Emirates is the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan established UAEU in 1976. His progressive vision is still being carried out by the university today. This has helped in recognizing the United Arab Emirates a successful role model for the Arab world with a rapidly expanding education system and cosmopolitan society. The UAEU is a comprehensive university with a strong focus on research. It is also renowned for its dedication to excellence in teaching and research.

Currently, the university has 14,000 students and represents 64 different nations. As the nation’s premier institution of higher learning, UAEU has nine colleges that cover business and economics, science, education, engineering, food and agriculture, humanities and social science, information technology, law, and medicine and health sciences. All these colleges are fully accredited internationally. The Colleges provide a broad range of student support services and extracurricular activities in ultra-modern settings with cutting-edge technology.
