What GMAT score do I require for an MBA? With GMAT scores accepted by Indian Business Schools, it has become a significant part of management admission procedures around the country. These management schools strive to produce the top management experts and so use GMAT scores as eligibility requirement. Because Indian Business Schools cannot admit every student, this test assists them in making their choices. The following is a list of GMAT cut offs for top MBA colleges in India that accept the GMAT.

IIM Ahmedabad

IIM Ahmedabad, founded in 1961, is well-known for its top-ranked PGP (MBA) program. The IIRF Rankings 2023 and NIRF Rankings 2022 place it first in India, first in the Outlook-ICARE India MBA Rankings, and 62nd internationally in the FT Rankings.

In addition to the PGP, IIM Ahmedabad provides MBA-PGPX for experienced professionals, MBA-FABM for food and agriculture business management, and ePGD in advanced business analytics. GMAT score is necessary for admission to IIM Ahmedabad: the GMAT cut off for IIM Ahmedabad in 2023 will be 700.

Criteria for Eligibility: Admission to IIM Ahmedabad would be dependent on the CAT score. This year, CAT registration will be open from August 3 until September 23. The CAT exam will take place in November.
The Selection Procedure: Personal interview lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. The interview could be divided into two or three panels. Your work experience, the interviewer's profile, and the interviewer's mood all influence the interview's substance. IIM Bangalore

Is the GMAT accepted at IIM Bangalore?
IIM Bangalore is well-known for its flagship PGP (Master of Business Administration) program. IIM Bangalore's flagship MBA program costs roughly INR. 24.5 LPA, with an average CTC of INR 33.8 LPA for the 2022 cohort, making it one of the best B-Schools in terms of good ROI in the country. IIM Bangalore uses the CAT score to determine MBA admissions.

  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA (the eligibility bar is modified to 45% for candidates from the SC/ST/PwD categories).
  • To be considered for admission to IIM Bangalore, candidates must take the CAT exam and obtain the required sectional and overall scores.

IIM Kolkata

Following in the footsteps of IIM Bangalore and Ahmedabad, the GMAT cut-off for IIM Calcutta is more than 700. IIM Calcutta - The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is one of the top and oldest IIMs in the country. IIM Calcutta is well-known for being a forerunner in finance education. NIRF 2022 and Outlook-ICARE rank IIM Calcutta, which was founded in 1961, third in the Management Category.

Criteria for Eligibility
  • Students must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate grade point average of 50% (45% for SC/ST students).
  • Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with Disabilities candidates would receive a 5% wage decrease.
The Selection Procedure
  • Candidates for the PI-WAT phase are chosen depending on their CAT percentile. Shortlisted students are invited to the PI-WAT Round.
  • Candidates are selected based on their overall PI-WAT performance, CAT scores, academic scores, employment experience, and diversity.

IIM Lucknow


Admission to IIM Lucknow EFPM 2023 will be available until March 10, 2023. The IIM Lucknow IPMX GMAT cut off is 710 or higher. The application cost for the IIML EFPM is INR 1000 for unreserved applicants and INR 500 for reserved applicants. Candidates should submit their applications online at www.iiml.ac.in/efpm-instructions.

Criteria for Eligibility
  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline or a comparable academic pursuit (i.e. 10+2+3) with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA is required.
  • Students must have at least 5 years of full-time post-qualification (after graduation) professional experience as of March 31, 2020 (work experience certificate or salary slips will be required as proof).
  • GMAT exam scores are collected between the 16th and 15th of November, 2019 for Phase 1 applicants, and between the 26th and 25th of January, 2020 for Phase 2 applicants.

IIM Indore

IIM Indore EPGP: GMAT cut off is 700+, and the IIM Indore Interview Schedule is now available. IIM Indore has issued the provisional shortlist for the PI of the PGP and PGP HRM batches of 2023-25.

IIM Indore EFPM Admission 2023: IIM Indore Admission 2023 for the EFPM program for the academic year 2023 is now open. The application date is February 28, 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to a personal interview between March and April 2023.

Admissions to the PGP HRM program at IIM Indore are now open. IIM Indore was as the 12th Best B-School (Govt.) in the Management Category by IIRF 2023. Criteria for Eligibility

  • To be eligible for admission to IIM Indore, a candidate must take the CAT 2022 exam and attain the minimum mandated sectional and overall score, in addition to a recognized graduate degree.
  • If the candidate is given grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence utilized to assess PGP admission eligibility will be the equivalence confirmed by the institution/university where the bachelor's degree was achieved.
  • Candidates who are in their final year of a bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination, as well as those who have finished the degree requirements but are awaiting results, are all eligible to apply for IIM Indore Admission 2023.
The Selection Procedure
  • All candidates who have been shortlisted are eligible to participate in the final selection round for admission to IIM Indore.
  • Following the final admission phase, the selection criteria at IIM Indore provide 40% weight to the Personal Interview (PI), no weight to the Writing Ability Test (WAT), 20% weight to Class 10 & 12 marks, and 20% weight to the CAT 2022 overall score.

Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad

ISB Hyderabad - Founded in 2001, the Indian Business Schools Hyderabad is well-known for its great professors, international exposure, and innovative programs. ISB Hyderabad is ranked first in India and 44th internationally in the Financial Times Executive Education Rankings 2022.

ISB also has a campus in Mohali that follows the same admissions and placement procedures as the main campus. The ISB GMAT cut-off for admission in 2023 is between 710 and 740.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed for the ISB PGP Round 2 between December 20, 2022 and February 10, 2023. The results of PGP Round 2 will be announced on February 15, 2023. Criteria for Eligibility
  • A bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required in any discipline.
  • The candidate must have at least 24 months of full-time post-qualification job experience as of March 31 of that year.
  • Valid GMAT/GRE score
  • GMAT (TOEFL/IELTS/PTE necessary only if English was not the primary language of instruction at the undergraduate level)
The Selection Procedure
  • Before being admitted into the MBA program, a candidate must go through two steps.
  • All candidates must take the GMAT/GRE exam. Candidates are picked depending on their performance on the exam.
  • Candidates who have been shortlisted are invited to a personal interview. Based on their performance in the interview, the shortlisted candidates are offered a place at ISB.
